Grain alcohol Tincture

 

Ingredients

  • 1/4 ounce - 4 ounce dried botanicals (1/4 - 1/2 ounce per cup of alcohol)**

  • 1-8 Cups 151, 153, or 190 proof grain alcohol**

Directions

1) Decarboxylate Your Botanicals

2) Cover the botanicals with grain alcohol

  • Pour grain alcohol over decarboxylated and cooled off botanicals.

  • Close the lid.

3) Start the Butter Brewer

  • Press the tincture button, and adjust the time/temp as desired. We recommend a 2 hour time for alcohol tinctures rather than the 5 hour preset, as the alcohol will evaporate quicker than glycerin.

  • Press Start.

4) Complete cycle and strain tincture

  • When the tincture cycle has completed, allow the pot to cool off for about 3-5 minutes and then strain the contents through 25 micron straining bag included into a storage container. 

**CAUTION: MATERIALS ARE HIGHLY FLAMMABLE. We recommend working in a well ventilated area, preferably outside.
